Baseball (4-0, 1-0):
Senior pitcher Harlan Zeerip picked up his third win of the season as he helped the Bobcats remain undefeated. Playing at rival Newtown (4-2), Zeerip pitched a complete game two-hitter, striking out eight Nighthawks while holding them to only one run in Brookfield's 2-1 win.
Both teams scored a run in the second inning and the game remained tied until Brookfield could take the lead with another run in the sixth. Sophomore Matt Gernert and junior Bryson Herr came up with the RBIs for Brookfield. Senior Dave Long had three of Brookfield's four hits in the game and scored a run.
The two teams will meet up again at Brookfield on Wednesday.
